Snax 24 has chosen delivered wholesaler Palmer & Harvey McLane to supply its 43 forecourts throughout the UK.
In a three-year contract worth £15m, P&H will take over from Blueheath to deliver ambient goods including tobacco, confectionery, drinks, crisps, grocery and alcohol as of this month.Snax 24 operates seven managed sites, 36 commission operated sites, as well as a number of Shell-owned forecourts which are already supplied by P&H under a separate contract. The retailer was looking for a supplier with the potential to achieve compliance across all the commission operated sites, which would ultimately offer a more consistent produce range.Bill Ahearn, managing director of Snax 24, said: “As a supplier to Snax 24 until April 2003, P&H already had a proven track record of reliable support and exceptional service levels. “They have proved to be the most professional company in the marketplace, offering the discipline to allow us to achieve compliance in all Snax 24 sites.”P&H was founded in 1925 as a delivered wholesaler specialising in tobacco and confectionery. It currently services around 7,000 petrol retailers, and has grown to be the third largest privately owned company in the UK with a turnover of £3.5m.Paul Hagon, national accounts sales director at P&H, said: “I am delighted that Snax 24 has chosen P&H. It is a great boost to win this business back and illustrates our commitment to providing first-class service and support to the forecourt sector.”
