A service station has offered a reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of a suspected petrol thief.

The incident happened at the Gulf petrol station, owned by JT Leavesley, in Rykneld Street, Alrewas, Staffordshire, at 2.45pm on Sunday, February 7.

The man, who had dark facial hair and was wearing a black hat, dark coat and light tracksuit bottoms, pulled up in a dark red VW Polo with false registration plate KR59 ERM and filled his tank with £40.75 of unleaded petrol before driving off without paying.

The suspect was caught on the garage’s security cameras and images have been released by police to appeal for information.

Staffordshire Police is investigating the incident and is appealing for anyone with information to contact PC Neil Lawton on 101, quoting incident number 422 of 7 February.
