Asda has been granted planning permission for a petrol filling station (PFS) at its supermarket in the centre of Gloucester after it said it hoped to bring low-priced fuel to residents of the city.

The PFS will take space from the supermarket car park and will consist of six dual-sided dispensers allowing fuel- hose delivery for 12 filling positions.

It will be fully automated with self-service pumps operated by customer credit card authorisation only, with no cash sales. Because of the automation there is no requirement for a sales kiosk.
