product news: 350ml Mars drinks move to price-marked packs

Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats is moving its 8x350ml milk drinks range into price-marked packs (PMP).

The chocolate milk drinks range from Mars Chocolate Drinks and is worth £24.2m a year, and Mars Milk is the bestseller, accounting for 69% of all sales within the range.

The new 350ml range of PMPs includes: Mars, Galaxy, Milky Way, Bounty, Mars Caramel and Skittles, as well as a new Maltesers variant. The 702ml Mars Milk bottle is also now available as a PMP.

Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats advises the products are best presented to consumers in refrigerators, chilled and ready to consume on the move. But, as ambient products, bulk stocks can be stored outside of the chiller, allowing for easy storage and an extended shelf life.

Michelle Frost, general manager for Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats, said: “Our 350ml milk drinks range is a huge category driver. By moving into price-marked packs, we hope to see even more category growth by offering retailers the opportunity for more impulse purchases.”

The 350ml range of milk drinks from Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats will be available from March with an Rrp of £1.29. The 702ml MARS Milk bottle is available from March with an Rrp: £1.69.
