Sibylla UK representative, Richard Tyler, explained: "Sibylla 'Shop in Shop' is a complete solution that allows stores to easily, and most of all profitably, offer tasty hot fast food to their customers. The solution is built around the use of a roller grill and contact grill allowing for the food to be highly visible and appetising to customers, and a solution that allows retail teams to prepare the products to order as the customer desires.
"It's already a big success in Sweden where there are more than 900 'Shop in Shop' units."
The food offer comprises a range of hot dogs, including classic-style frankfurters, Swedish-style kabanos served in pre-cut French bread, bratwurst, chorizo, Polish sausage and bacon-wrapped breakfast sausage.
Tyler added: "Shoppers are busier than ever and this behaviour is driving the growth in food- to-go, but shoppers are at the same time being more demanding and won't settle for unappetising food, and neither will Sibylla which has a long tradition and huge experience and provides fast food as it should taste."
Sibylla offers a range of products in addition to hot dogs, such as tortilla wraps and French fries, that can be tailored to specific markets.
The company has been working closely with a number of key retailers over the past year to carry out small trials across the UK, in a variety of outlets including forecourt stores.
Tyler said the trial had helped to develop a new smaller counter-top solution ideal for a variety of UK stores, which is easily expandable into larger units as a retailer's requirements grow.
The range of concept modules starts from a 60cm-wide counter-top or free-standing module up to a 210cm fully integrated module, with the free-standing modules including integrated refrigeration and bread warmers.
Tyler added: "Sibylla 'Shop in Shop' offers retailers a perfect solution for hot food to go without the need to make expensive changes to their stores or to buy additional equipment."
