Product news: Lewis Hamilton to drive Monster winners

03 March, 2017

Monster Energy is giving motor racing fans a chance to enjoy a track day with Formula One star, Lewis Hamilton, as part of a promotion with Mercedes.

The Ride Along competition will begin on April 1 and run for three months, with winners and a friend set to enjoy a lap of the AMG driving facility set within the Brooklands race circuit. Their driver will be the three-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton, who will also hold a meet and greet and autograph session with the winners.

The prize is being offered following the success of the competition for the last two years. Monster and motor racing fans can enter by visiting www.monsterenergy.com. Retailers will be supported during the promotion with a range of POS items, helping to highlight Monster Energy on the shelf and build advocacy of the brand among its target audience, leading to long-term sales growth.

The promotion is the latest Monster Energy activation designed to align the brand with motorsport, helping to increase its appeal to a wider more mainstream demographic.

Simon Harrison, GB operational marketing director at CCEP, said: “We’ve worked hard to align Monster Energy with the interests of a wider yet targeted adult consumer, and the offer of this genuine money-can’t-buy prize is designed to underline our status as the energy drink of choice among the motorsport audience.

“This promotion marks the continuation of our relationship with one of the best known and most successful teams in motorsport as well as working alongside the great Lewis Hamilton. We’re confident that the initiative will help us to build on the sales growth enjoyed over the past year, driving sales and profits for our customers.”
