Healthier versions of Nik Naks and Wheat Crunchies have been introduced by UBUK as part of a £1m investment to drive impulse sales.

The two brands were acquired by UBUK in February following the demise of Golden Wonder.

They now have 50% less saturated fat, 30% less sodium and no artificial sweeteners.

Known for its strong flavour portfolio and quirky brand positioning, Nik Naks is said to worth £15m. The reformulated range includes old favourites nice ’n’ spicy, rib ’n’ saucy, cream ’n’ cheesy and scampi ’n’ lemon.

Wheat Crunchies, meanwhile, is said to have value sales worth £11m, with flavours including crispy bacon, spicy tomato, and big cheese.

Both ranges are available in 34g and 50g packs, as well as multi-packs.
