Viseon has launched a web-based CCTV recording system that aims to remove the need for expensive on-site equipment.

Viseon says its system is simple to plug in and play using existing cameras.

It provides a virtual control room where retailers can view both live footage and past recordings, all accessed via an internet connection with a secure login.

Frames are transferred at a rate of up to 25 per second, dependent on band width and past footage can be recalled by time, date, transaction and movement from one to as many as 500 cameras. The system costs £25 per camera per site a month for each camera.
