Packs of Walkers' cheese & onion crisps will carry the Carbon Trust logo from mid-April, showing how much carbon was produced in making them. Walkers says it is the first mass-marketed food brand to adopt the logo, which signifies its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. The company had to carry out a rigorous analysis of its product supply chain, and has pledged to reduce its energy and water use, per pack, by 3% and 5% respectively year on year. The carbon value of 75g per standard pack accounts for every stage in the production process of the crisps. 01189 306666 |
