The businesses and trading subsidiaries of Torex Retail have been acquired for £204.4m by Cerberus European Investments through Torex Retail Holdings, an acquisition vehicle owned by Cerberus.

Harvest Energy has launched a new fuel which claims to reduce CO2 emissions by as much as 18% and sulphur emissions by up to 90%. Harvest BioDiesel B30 is blended in the UK from renewable resources and has a maximum biodiesel content of 30%.

A survey of 463 businesses in England in the run-up to the introduction of the new smoke-free law, discovered that 96% are aware of the legislation and 95% will be compliant in time for the changes.
