Gallaher is launching Brio lighters in the UK. Available in Maxi and Micro formats, they both incorporate a 'smooth spark wheel' system to ensure they are child resistant but at the same time retain a smooth lighting mechanism for adult users. Rrp is 69p for the Maxi and 49p for the Micro. In March this year, EU legislation came into force stating that lighters that are dangerous to children should no longer be distributed. Retailers with any such lighters in stock have until March 11, 2008 to sell them. Failure to comply with the new law could result in a fine or imprisonment. 01932 859777
