Cadbury is bringing back Wispa permanently from next month.

Wispa was one of the most successful chocolate bar launches of the 1980s and was reintroduced as a limited edition last October. The trial saw 20 million bars fly off the shelves in just seven weeks, the fastest new product sell-out for Cadbury in the past four years. Consumer demand is expected to be just as high this year. Rrp is 45p.

Kate Harding, Cadbury trade communications manager, says: "Dedicated point of sale will be available to highlight the launch and retailers are advised to create some in-store theatre around the brand to make the most of the opportunity."

Cadbury says Wispa should be merchandised inside dumpbins at impulse points throughout the store to drive consumer purchase.

Meanwhile, Cadbury is also adding two new variants to its Dairy Milk range - cranberry & granola and apricot crumble crunch. They will be backed by a £2m advertising campaign
