Mars is giving away 200,000 balls this summer by bringing back its ’Mars Balls Get Britain Playing’ campaign.

The promotion runs through on-pack, trade and sampling and will give away cricket, rugby and tennis balls in addition to footballs. It will be supported by a £5m media spend which Mars says will focus on "encouraging the nation to get their hands on a ball, head down to the local park and get playing".

The company has also got four ’sports ambassadors’ involved - Pat Cash, Darren Gough, John Barnes and Austin Healey.

The promotion will run across single and duo Mars bars, Mars multipacks, Mars Planets and Mars ice cream bars.

One hundred thousand balls will be given away; consumers enter their unique code online to see if they have won.
