A 30-year-old man, who has been convicted 41 times for driving while disqualified and six times for driving dangerously, has now been jailed for 19 months for drive-offs.

According to the This is Bristol website, Christopher Warburton twice filled up his Ford Escort van with diesel without paying.

When police spotted him at another petrol station, covering his face, he drove off through Bristol before being boxed in and grabbed.

Bristol Crown Court heard that Warburton used a number plate stolen from an Audi A3 when he filled up his van with £165-worth of diesel at Shell and Asda petrol stations and drove off without paying.

Warburton pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, two thefts, handling stolen goods and driving without insurance in March. He was banned from driving for four years and ordered to take an extended driving test.
