Nisa-Today’s has launched a forecourt fascia for small independents, following the launch of Nisa Express for larger sites in July (Forecourt Trader, August, p13).

Today’s Express is designed for smaller sites who trade with a Today’s wholesale member to encourage retailer loyalty. Nisa Express is aimed at retailers with a higher turnover – a minimum of £15,000 shop sales a week – and trade directly with Nisa.

The first site to open under the new fascia is in Immingham, Northeast Lincolnshire. Owners Richard and Irene Squires, and customers of Nisa-Today’s wholesaler Dee Bee Cash & Carry, have worked with the wholesalers to make the prototype.

Irene says: “Nisa-Today’s has provided a vehicle for the smaller independent retailer to fight and compete against the might of the multiples.”

The newly extended 1,000sq ft forecourt store offers alcohol, food-to-go, chilled sandwiches and snacks, frozen food, soft drinks, confectionery and newspapers. Since the new fascia and refit, weekly sales have almost doubled.

The Today’s Express option is available to forecourt retailers who are committed customers of Nisa-Today’s wholesalers and agree to strict in-store disciplines.
