Atos, an international IT services company, has extended its fuelGenie contract with Morrisons until 2019. Morrisons will also become part of Atos’s wider network of merchants who accept payment by business account cards administered by Atos.

Atos claims a proven history of increasing sales for clients through its business account card offering since 2009, and hopes to enable Morrisons to get more customers to its forecourts.

The company will provide businesses that want to fill up at Morrisons with a fuel card that they can issue to staff members and receive a consolidated monthly bill handled through Atos. Businesses are able to apply online and manage their accounts via the web. Through the web portal they can view transactions, invoices, add and remove cards, make interim payments and run management information reports.

Atos has more than 15 years’ experience in providing business card schemes to leading UK companies. The addition of Morrisons to its network of merchants greatly improves the offering to businesses and their employees.

Mark Betts, head of Hi-Tech Transactional Services, Atos, UK and Ireland, said: “I’m delighted that Morrisons has chosen to continue and extend its fuel payment card scheme with us. We know that this can improve sales and customer loyalty by providing an efficient and easy solution to businesses and their employees. We are leaders in this market and are delighted to work with iconic UK companies such as Morrisons.”

Mark Todd, director of Fuel at Morrisons, said: “We look forward to working with Atos on providing our customers with an enhanced service that has been designed to save them time and money. Atos gave us the perfect solution, which will make life easier for our customers and grow our business.”

The new contract should see Atos driving more volume to Morrisons through its multi-merchant business card scheme which already partners with other leading UK organisations.

The card will be rolled out to Morrisons customers from mid-2013.
