The motorway service operator Welcome Break has announced a partnership deal with Subway, with two stores opened at service stations on 13th December.

The first is at the Welcome Break Charnock Richard Services on the M6, the opening of which was attended by local MP Lindsay Hoyle. The second store to open was at the Welcome Break Woodall Services outside of Sheffield.

The new Welcome Break stores are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and have created 20 full time and part time jobs.

Rod McKie, CEO of Welcome Break, said: “We are thrilled to be announcing that the Subway brand has been added to our existing offering at Welcome Break Woodall and Welcome Break Charnock Richard. We have been looking to introduce our customers to healthier options and the product range that the Subway brand offers has enabled us to do this at two of our service stations. This is a partnership that we predict to go from strength-to-strength and we fully expect to be introducing the Subway brand to other Welcome Breaks across the UK in the very near future.”

Neil Denny, Subway development agent for the North West, commented: “We have been working closely with Welcome Break over recent months and we are very excited to be opening the first two stores in the partnership. A Subway franchise is the perfect fit for a busy motorway service station and from a consumer perspective there is a real gap for healthier, made-to-order, great value options when customers stop on their travels. We hope to see many more Subway stores in Welcome Break motorway service stations in the coming months.”
