Robber with hammer strikes at Slough site

23 September, 2015

Thames Valley Police is appealing for information after a robbery at a service station in Slough.

Shortly before 9.30pm on Sunday September 20, a man entered the shop at the BP petrol station in Farnham Road and demanded cash while threatening a male shop worker with a club hammer.

He used the hammer to smash open the till and stole the till tray before running off northwards along the Farnham Road.

The offender is white, approximately 5ft 10ins, aged in his early twenties and was wearing a black balaclava over his face, a brown hooded sweater and chinos.

Police are investigating whether the incident is linked to a robbery at the One Stop Liquor Store, nearby in Farnham Road, at about 2.30am on Wednesday September 16.

During this incident, one offender threatened a shop worker with a knife, demanding money, while another offender waited outside. The shop worker grappled with the offender and both offenders fled. Nothing was stolen during this incident.

Detective inspector Stuart Brangwin, of Force CID based at Maidenhead, said: “These businesses are within a close proximity and it is less than a week since the robbery at the One Stop Liquor Store, so we are looking at the possibility that they may be connected.

“If anyone saw anything that may be of any help or has any information about either of these incidents, please contact us via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101.”
