Absolut-ly better bottle

Absolut vodka has been relaunched with a stronger bottle shape, an updated two-line logo, a redesigned medallion and reduced glass weight. In addition, there is a new 'brand signifier' on the back of the bottle in the form of a bold 'A' as shorthand for the Absolut brand.

Support for the vodka comes from a new Taste Perfection platform to celebrate classic cocktails.

Adam Boita, head of marketing at Pernod Ricard, says: "Classic cocktails dominate the top 10 cocktails in the UK and we're seeing an exciting revivalist trend where the future of cocktails lies in the past. Fifty-three per cent of frequent cocktail drinkers bought a cocktail in the last week and 50% experiment with variations on the cocktails that they like (CGA Cocktail Report)."

When a major car manufacturer like Ford predicts that sales of its electrified cars will outnumber petrol and diesel models by 2022, does that ring alarm bells about the possible speed of change for forecourts?
