Knifeman robs Wallingford forecourt

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after an armed robber struck at a forecourt in Wallingford.

Shortly after 1.15am on Sunday January 24 a man entered the Esso service station in Station Road and threatened a male member of staff with a knife and demanded cash.

The member of staff gave the man a quantity of cash from the till, and the offender then walked away. No one was injured during the incident.

The offender is white, aged between 20 and 25 years old, 5ft 11ins, and of large build. He was wearing a grey hooded top and light blue jeans. He possibly spoke with a South African accent.

Investigating officer detective constable Francesca Griffin, from Abingdon Force CID, said: “Detectives are investigating the incident and we are appealing for anyone with information to contact police. If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at around the time of the incident please come forward.”
