Attempted robbery in Hampshire

12 February, 2016

Police in Hampshire are appealing for witnesses following the attempted robbery of a service station in Park Gate, Fareham.

A man wearing a balaclava and carrying a blue carrier bag entered Locks Heath Service Station, on Bridge Road, at 3.30am on February 10.

He approached the female shop assistant and demanded money before hitting the monitor of the cash till.

He then ran off and was last seen heading towards Station Road. Nothing was stolen.

The man is described as approximately 6ft 4inches tall, of a slim build, and wearing a black balaclava, gloves and dark clothing.

Inspector James Stewart said: “This was clearly a traumatic incident for the member of staff involved and we hope that anyone who may have seen something that night or who has information about the person who did this will come forward and speak to us.”

Anyone who can help should call police on 101, quoting 44160060541, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
