Nigel Plumb takes over as MD at DP Fuel Tank Services

15 April, 2016

Nigel Plumb has been appointed managing director of DP Fuel Tank Services (DP FTS).

Nigel, who has been a director of the company for 16 years, said: I am looking forward to the challenge of the new role. We are in a time of great change in the industry and the successful companies will be those who adapt the most effectively and develop new services.

DP FTS has just introduced a fuel tank painting service, using high quality, heavy duty paint. Rust can cause corrosion and weaken tanks, necessitating costly repairs and replacements but this paint, used on boats and aircraft, is water and stress resistant and can prolong the life of fuel tanks. The paint is available in any colour and can be mixed to customer specification.

Nigel takes over from his sister, Kathy, who is retiring. Nigel and Kathy are the son and daughter of company founder David Plumb.

As a management team they have taken the organisation from a purely tank cleaning company to a diversified fuel tank specialist, with services including excavation, recycling, contaminated land remediation, oil tank installation and tank lining.
