Morrisons highlights fuel deal on revamped loyalty card

01 June, 2016

Morrisons claims it is offering market-leading rewards on its fuel as it launched its new look Morrisons More loyalty card.

The new look card is being sent to existing card holders and offers customers 10 points per litre of fuel, which Morrisons says is more than comparable loyalty cards.

Customers with the card are given five Morrisons More Points per pound spent in store, and when they earn 5,000 points they receive a £5 voucher – to be branded the Morrisons Fiver.

With the new card customers will also earn five Morrisons More points for every £1 spent in Morrisons’ cafes.

Morrisons group marketing and customer director Andy Atkinson said: “We have listened to what our customers tell us they want from a Morrisons loyalty scheme. They enjoy earning points every time they shop with us and being rewarded with £5 vouchers – their Morrisons Fivers. But they also said that they want to earn points across our stores, including in our customer cafes.”

When a major car manufacturer like Ford predicts that sales of its electrified cars will outnumber petrol and diesel models by 2022, does that ring alarm bells about the possible speed of change for forecourts?
