Sewell raises cash for children's charity

20 July, 2016

Patrick Sewell, managing director of Top 50 Indie Sewell on the go, has helped to raise £6,637.50 for a children’s charity by cycling almost 70 miles through the night.

The Nightrider London event on June 4 saw 2,500 cyclists complete the 67-mile route across London, all in support of Kidscape.

Patrick was part of a team of 14 alongside supplier Delta Refrigeration and started cycling at 11.30pm, burning 4,500 calories in 5 hours and 55 minutes.

He said: “We started at the Olympic Stadium and cycled north, east, south and west.

“We travelled from Highgate and Hampstead Heath, to Chelsea and Kensington, then to The Mall and the West End, onto Greenwich and Crystal Palace, returning across Tower Bridge, through Tower Hamlets and back to the Olympic Park.

“The charity was set up to help children, trying to keep them free from bullying and abuse.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored me.”

Sewell on the go operates 12 fuel and convenience stores across Hull and the East Riding, and was ranked 23rd in the most recent Forecourt Trader Top 50 Indies.
