Hit and run driver smashes into forecourt

Devon & Cornwall Police are hunting for a suspected drunk driver who smashed a silver 4x4 into a service station at Exmouth, Devon in the early hours of July 25.

The incident happened at around 3.15am at the Shell Garage on Exeter Road, when a car rammed into the front of the service station shop, before driving away.

Police are looking for a silver Grand Cherokee Jeep in relation to the incident, and sergeant Harry Tangye said they were also looking for “a suspected drunk driver”.

The damage left a window smashed, an outdoor display destroyed and bottles of car wash strewn across the forecourt.

Anyone with further information, or who is able to identify the vehicle or driver, are asked to contact police on non-emergency line 101 quoting log 84 for 25/07/16.
