Top 50 Indie and current Forecourt Trader of the Year Sewell on the Go has opened its third Subway with more planned for 2017.

It has created 12 new jobs with the opening of the new Subway at its Cottingham branch, and this is the third Subway sandwich franchise to open within the business in the past 12 months, with others located in South Cave and Chanterlands Avenue in West Hull.

Subway in Cottingham opened on Wednesday, November 9, following a £100,000 investment in the site.

Patrick Sewell, managing director of Sewell on the go, said: “Subway offers more choice to the customer and adds extra value to the convenience offer we already provide in store.

“It’s a real hit with our customers and we’re delighted to have opened three so far. There are plans in the pipeline to open additional Subways in 2017.

“Indoor seating is also planned for Cottingham, which will provide a nice area for customers to enjoy their Subway.”

Subway Cottingham is open from 7am to 8pm from Monday to Wednesday, 7am to 12 midnight from Thursday to Saturday, and from 9am to 8pm on Sunday.

When Subway opened at the newly refurbished £1.5m Sewell on the go site in South Cave earlier this year, 1,500 sandwiches were sold in the first week and 10 new jobs were created.

Meanwhile, 12 new jobs were created at Chanterlands Avenue when it opened in September and 524 six-inch subs were sold on the first day.

Sewell on the go Operations manager Kate Sleight, who oversees Subway for the business, said: “Subway is a fantastic brand with fresh produce and the quality is second to none.

“There is also a very healthy range, which means there’s something for everyone.

“I believe Cottingham will follow in the fantastic footsteps of South Cave and Chanterlands Avenue, and be a great success.”

All 12 Sewell on the go fuel and convenience stores offer free WIFI, free ATMs, Costa coffee, BP fuel and everyday essentials.
