CPL Petroleum has done a deal with Inchcape to supply its 4mlpa site in Wokingham with the UK Retail brand.
The wheels were set in motion for the deal at last year's International Forecourt & Fuel Equipment (IFFE) show at the Birmingham NEC.CPL's retail area manager, Tony Boyce, told Forecourt Trader: "Senior executives from Inchcape visited our stand and gave us the opportunity to tender for a new contract to supply them. We went ahead and were up against six other companies including BP and Shell, and we won. It's really good news for us as the Finchampstead Road site is such a high volume one."BP was Inchcape's previous fuel supplier. The company, which has two forecourts, wanted to make the change so it could "regain control over its business". Richard Hardy, Inchcape's general manager, explained: "With UK Retail we experience none of the restrictions that can typify relationships with the major suppliers and it's good to be forging a new relationship with a partner that allows us to run our business. Our agreement with UK Retail is a true partnership which allows us to operate our site as we see appropriate and plan forecourt refits and developments, all with the total support of the team. The whole contract has a single point of contact so it is very easy to adminster."Not surprisingly, after such success from its presence last year, CPL Petroleum is back at IFFE this month and can be found on stand B40.
