Bikers threaten more fuel protests

Organisers of the May Day weekend fuel protests are reported to be threatening more demonstrations unless

the incoming government moves to cut fuel duty.

About 400 motorbikes and 25 cars took part in the 'go slow' demonstration in the Manchester area over rising petrol and diesel prices.

The protest's leader, known as ‘Maverick’, told the Manchester Evening News: "It is very rare that the British public get up and air their concerns but they did just that here.

"We just can't understand why prices keep going up and up – it just makes no sense."

He warned of more protests "if demand is there".
