IFFE 2011- at the Birmingham NEC from Sunday February 27 to Tuesday March 1 - is the place to be if you're serious about forecourt retailing
Page 41

Whether you want to catch up with existing suppliers or meet new ones, IFFE 2011 is the place for you. It's packed full of exhibitors so you can meet with them face to face to find out what they can do for your business. You can find out what these exhibitors have to offer on pages 45-46.

However, there's much more to IFFE this year as the show will be used to launch Indie 5000, an exciting new project targeting dealers with a handful of sites or less, who make up the majority of the independent fuel retailing market. The programme will kick off with a new event, the Indie 5000 dinner, which will take place on the first night of IFFE on Sunday, February 27.

There will also be special presentations aimed at the Indie 5000 audience, taking place on the Forecourt Trader stand (A90) during the show on Sunday February 27 and Monday February 28.

The launch of the Indie 5000 project follows in the footsteps of the prestigious Top 50 Indies brand, which was launched in 2006, and which currently features a dinner and a track day, both of which have grown to become must-attend events for their target audience those with the largest number of independently-owned and managed forecourts.

The programme of special presentations for Indie 5000 includes:

l Optimising property value and business exit strategies Barber Wadlow;

l How to improve fuel margins Simon Kucher & Partners;

l Taking small steps to maximise shop income and profit InStore Profits;

l The car wash business Wilcomatic;

l Making car wash pay in a difficult climate WashTec;

l Forecourts of the future brand agency Circle.

In addition, there is the Eurotank Fuels Handling and Storage technical seminar.

This will include information on preparing for the arrival of E-10, testing multi-fuel installations, redeveloping forecourts with minimum downtime, security for your underground fuel storage, and a bio-bug update. It really is a packed programme and should definitely not be missed.

National Convenience Show

The Convenience Retailing Show has been relaunched in 2011 as the National Convenience Show (NCS). Visit the exhibition to catch up with top suppliers including Arla Foods, Heineken, Imperial Tobacco, Unilever and Warburtons.

A key part of the NCS will be the chance to visit Live @ the Counter where you'll be able to see practical demonstrations, enjoy sampling opportunities and attend seminars. Members of Unilever's Partners for Growth Retailer Advisory Panel will share their experiences. Key debates will include: 'Recession Survive or Thrive?' and 'Statistics & Insights turning data into profit.' In addition, you'll get the chance to hear from MasterChef's Gregg Wallace, who will be offering advice on how you can source and promote local produce. He will show that, by doing so, you will not only build better relationships with suppliers in your area, but also gain a valuable point of difference in the eyes of your customers one which the grocery multiples will struggle to match.

Meanwhile, 'Ask the Experts' is your chance to get some free advice from industry experts. Whether you're looking for help in cutting your energy bills or for remerchandising your store, there'll be an expert to help you. Log onto www.nationalconvenienceshow.co.uk to book your appointment.

Your ticket to IFFE will grant you free access to NCS
