Tesco trumps Sainsury’s with 15ppl promo

01 July, 2011

Tesco has upstaged Sainsbury’s 10ppl fuel promotion with its latest offer giving motorists 15ppl off fuel in return for £50 spent in store.

From today, Tesco customers will receive a 5ppl voucher for purchasing a 30-pack of Coca-Cola for £10, and a further 5ppl for a four-pack of Princes tuna in brine at £5. And if customers spend a total of £50 in store or online on groceries, they will earn yet another 5ppl off voucher.

Richard Brasher, Tesco’s UK chief executive, said: “Most significantly, our customers can use all three vouchers at the same time meaning a £50 shop at Tesco can save motorists 15ppl on fuel. It’s the best fuel deal you’ll find anywhere in the UK.

“We know that families are feeling the pinch and so I am delighted to be offering unbeatable value in store and on the forecourt.”

The promotion runs from July 1 while stocks last, after which customers will have a further two weeks to redeem their vouchers.
