Forecourt Trader - 30 years at the heart of the fuel retailing community

Drive-off man banned from driving

14 February, 2012

A man who drove off from a forecourt without paying for petrol three times in one month has been banned from driving.

According to the Newmarket Journal, 22-year-old Azoun Limmage had taken his girlfriend’s car to the Hyperion garage in Newmarket and was driving without a licence or insurance when he committed the offences. He had filled up his girlfriend’s car three times last November with a total of £161.64-worth of petrol, and each time drove off without paying.

Limmage pleaded guilty to two charges of making off without payment, three charges of driving without a licence and three charges of driving without insurance. A further charge of making off without payment was taken into consideration.

He was ordered to serve a 12-month community order with supervision. He received 18 points on his licence and was disqualified from driving for nine months. He was also ordered to pay compensation to Hyperion of £161.64 and court costs of £50.
