Forecourt Trader - 30 years at the heart of the fuel retailing community
A flavour to savour
Published:  17 December, 2012

Pipers Crisps has launched its first-ever meat flavour chorizo. All the company's flavours are sourced from carefully selected artisan producers. The chorizo comes from Yorkshire where specialist farmer and butcher, Chris Wildman, rears rare-breed pigs to make Kirkby Malham Chorizo.

This is the first new flavour to be introduced by Lincolnshire-based Pipers Crisps for several years. Managing director Alex Albone explains: "Unlike many crisps manufacturers, we don't go in for fashionable or seasonal flavours we're only interested in long-term relationships with specialist, artisan flavour partners."

When a major car manufacturer like Ford predicts that sales of its electrified cars will outnumber petrol and diesel models by 2022, does that ring alarm bells about the possible speed of change for forecourts?
