Forecourt Trader - 30 years at the heart of the fuel retailing community

New services for Jet dealers

16 January, 2013

Phillips 66 has introduced two new initiatives with equipment suppliers aimed at increasing the profitability of Jet dealers.

The company has introduced a new pump maintenance contract for 2013 to reduce downtime on the forecourt and ensure continuation of supply for dealers.

The new service contract with Tokheim is in response to research carried out by Phillips 66 into the pump maintenance requirements of a cross-section of its Jet dealers.

Sharon Morrow, brand and communications co-ordinator, said: “We pride ourselves on continually meeting and listening to our dealers. At the heart of any dealers’ business are the fuel pumps. Without them operating to their full ability, customers are simply unable to buy fuel and are unlikely to return, due to their perception that ‘Jet pumps don’t work’.

“It’s vital for us to learn and understand dealers’ requirements, to enable them to be able to excel in their operations. We believe our new pump maintenance contract will improve not only service to our dealers, but also the service they offer to their customers.”

In addition, ‘Jet Healthy’ has been introduced in association with Istobal, offering Jet sites a free health check for their car washes, jet washes, air machines and vacuums.

An experienced technician will do a house call, spend about an hour examining the site’s equipment, and will send the dealer a confidential report of their findings, and prescribe any remedial work if required.

Morrow said: “We believe by detailing any corrective action, and providing recommendations, this will not only increase customer usage, but also improve our dealers profits.”
