Diesel stolen from Asda distribution site
Published:  15 March, 2013

Police are investigating after a large quantity of diesel was stolen from a container at an Asda regional distribution centre.

The theft happened between 11.30am on Saturday March 9, and 1am on Sunday, March 10, when diesel was stolen from a container at the Asda Distribution site on Pattinson North Industrial estate in Washington, Tyne & Wear.

Northumbria Police said it was believed that thousands of pounds worth of diesel was siphoned from the container.

They are appealing for information and in particular are keen to speak to the occupants of two vehicles that were seen near the container at the time of the offence.

One is a white Ford Transit style van and the other a larger box van type vehicle.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
