You name it, and Euro Garages' Calder Park Service Station has got it when it comes to food-to-go. There's a Starbucks, which has a dedicated drive-thru lane that's a big hit with busy commuters. The Spar store includes a Subway which, as well as conventional seating, has an adjoining lounge area with comfortable sofas and TVs. This area is popular with commuters wanting a short break from their journey and with older customers needing a rest.

Site owner Euro Garages reports that both the Starbucks and Subway have proved to be a "phenomenal success" and are regularly used by local residents as well as those who work on the neighbouring business park. The Spar store also incorporates the latest Starbucks on the Go self-service coffee machine which delivers, fresh, premium drinks within a minute. Awards' judges praised the site for having a well-presented and broad offering of food and drink for people on the go.

Best Forecourt Facilities - sponsored by Forecourt Trader

The Budgens Marlborough site boasts a host of top-class facilities. Owner Fraser's Retail said that as the forecourt convenience and valet offer was poor in the town, they designed the site to offer a smart Budgens store together with a four-pump starter-gate system with Washtec car wash, two Karcher jet washes, airlines and vacuums as well as 16 car park spaces.
Those car park spaces are invaluable to the site, allowing customers to park and shop at their leisure and also take advantage of the full range of valeting facilities.
As well as facilities, the forecourt provides plenty of support to the community in which it trades.
For example, customers are given a token in-store and can then choose a local charity or cause to support similar to Waitrose's popular scheme. The firm donates 200 a month to charities via this initiative.

best Hot Beverages outlet - sponsored by Costa Express

The Costa Coffee counter at Brookfield Group's Tickled Trout site at Samlesbury near Preston, is prominently located close to the shop entrance so it's highly visible to capture impulse sales.
The Costa offer is highlighted across the site, with messaging on the pole sign, a banner on top of the ATM and on a small sign at the exit.
Each month the store runs a series of promotions linking hot beverages with other products in-store, such as a free muffin when a customer buys a coffee for a set price.
Everything is well maintained. Indeed the staff go through an extensive training programme to ensure they are confident and capable of cleaning and maintaining the machine.
The Costa Coffee concept has been extremely good for the store, boosting sales from just seven to eight cups a day, to more than 60. The store sells roughly 550-worth of coffee a week, which equates to an impressive 2% of total turnover.
