Laundering plant raided



A diesel laundering plant capable of producing more than eight million litres of illicit fuel a year has been uncovered by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) in a cattle shed in Northern Ireland. Officers from HMRC, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and the DOE Environmental Crime Unit searched a farm in the Crossmaglen area of Co Armagh and discovered the plant, which was laundering green diesel.

Biofuel limit revised



EU ministers have agreed a 7% limit on the amount of biofuels made from food crops such as maize or rapeseed in transport fuel. The deal will require approval from the European Parliament, which is expected to begin considering it later this year.

Crackdown on drive-offs



Lancashire police has launched a crackdown on drive-offs after a surge in the number of cases. Last year 1,323 drive-offs were reported in the county, up 19.3% on the 974 cases in 2012. As part of the campaign, all petrol filling stations in the county are being encouraged to join the Forecourt Watch scheme operated by BOSS (British Oil Security Syndicate) to record incidents and capture evidence.

Worcester card fraud



Police have released CCTV images of four men they believe may be able to assist an investigation into a 6,454 petrol card fraud at service stations in the Worcester area.
