Armed robbery at Shell service station in Chesham

01 October, 2014

A gun was pointed at staff during a robbery at a Shell service station in Chesham, Buckinghamshire.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a man entered the Shell service station in Nashleigh Hill at 10.15pm on Monday September 29, and pointed what is believed to be a gun or an imitation gun at staff, demanding money.

No money was available from the till, so the man left empty handed. No one was injured during the incident.

The offender was white, 6ft tall and of medium build. He was wearing a black jacket, a grey hooded top under the jacket, grey jeans, black shoes and a balaclava.

The investigating officer, detective constable Diane Rooney, from Amersham Force CID, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information about the incident.

“Incidents of this nature are rare in Chesham and officers are in the process of carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area and investigating the circumstances.”

If you have any information about the incident call DC Rooney via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.

If you don’t want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
