TOREX RETAIL has further strengthened its offering to independent petrol and convenience retailers with the acquisition of CTN Systems – a specialist epos provider in the independent and newsagent market. The acquisition will give Torex 5,000 installations nationwide.
PETROL STATIONS are urgently required for sale by business agent Christie & Co as demand for forecourt property strengthens. Following the sale of Central Service Station, a thriving petrol station in Greater Manchester, which fetched a price “considerably in excess” of the original estimate, Jon Paul Hardman from Christie & Co’s Manchester office said: “With such strong demand we urgently require other petrol filling stations for a wide range of clients, who willconsider all opportunities from development sites to fully operational sites up to the value of £5m.” THE ROLLOUT of Welcome Break and KFC dual-branded motorway header signage boards has been completed. Rod McKie, chief operating officer for Welcome Break, said: “It is quite clear that the public’s desire for KFC is being borne out on the motorways. Feedback from motorists has been excellent and our sales have increased considerably – by as much as 30% in some cases, since launching the dual-branded signage, which is great for overall brand awareness and consumer choice.”
