Forecourt Trader - 30 years at the heart of the fuel retailing community

Euro Garages ranks 38th in Sunday Times Top Track 250

15 October, 2014

Euro Garages has made it to number 38 in this year's Sunday Times Top Track 250 league table, which ranks Britain's mid-market growth private companies with the biggest sales.

The Blackburn-based fuel retailer recorded a 40% sales increase of £438m,  and a 71% increase in profit to £12.4 million in its last financial year.

The report said the "growth champions" achieving a place in this year's Top Track 250 were the "unsung power-houses of Britain's economy". They typically employ between 500-2000 people, and operate in a range of industries from automotive and construction to retail.

However, because of the strengthening economy, with larger companies positioning themselves to prosper, it had become harder to join the league table.

The report said one reason for Euro Garages' success was its "ability to work closely with big-name food and drink partners such as Greggs and Starbucks, driving higher-margin, non-fuel custom".

Ilyas Munshi, Euro Garages commercial director, said: “We are very honoured to have been selected as one of the UK’s top 250 mid-market private companies. This is a major achievement for Euro Garages and is testament to our effort over the past few years. We’ll be looking to improve our position and hopefully finish in the top ten next year.

“Our senior management team, brand partners and stakeholders are pleased with the progress we are making, despite the continuingly tough economic climate we operate in, especially within the retail sector. I would like to thank all of our staff members for delivering a service which exceeds consumer expectations across the UK.”
