Assistant injured during robbery

Police are appealing for information after a staff member was injured during a robbery at a filling station near Houghton le Spring, Northumberland.

The robbery happened at 9pm on Sunday, March 1, at Chilton Moor Filling Station in North View Terrace in Chilton Moor.

A man went into the premises and stole a quantity of cash. It is not believed any weapons were used in the robbery, however, a staff member was knocked to the ground in the process of the robbery. The staff member suffered minor injuries as a result of the fall.

Detective sergeant Henry Gustard said: “We’re carrying out enquiries into the robbery and would ask anyone who has any information to get in contact.”
