Supermarkets have begun quietly raising their fuel prices, but with none of the publicity or social media blitzs associated with their price cuts through December and into January.

None of the big four groups gave a definititve answer to Forecourt Trader when it asked each of them how much they had put their fuel prices up.

Asda, the only one with a national price cap, did not respond, but during February its unleaded petrol increased by 4ppl to 107.7ppl and the price of its diesel increased by 3ppl to 113.7ppl.
