Ram raiders smash JCB into forecourt shop

20 May, 2015

A member of staff has had a miraculous escape after a ram raid attack smashed the front of the service station shop where they were working.

Police in Waverley, Surrey, are appealing for witnesses following the attack at a petrol station in Eashing in the early hours of Friday 15 May.

At around 4.36am police received reports that a bright yellow JCB had been driven into the front of the Eashing Service Station shop just off the A3 southbound.

Two people then entered the premises, removed the till and made off in a silver pick-up vehicle. It is believed that the offenders were men and were wearing dark trousers and dark hooded tops.

A member of staff was working in the shop at the time but was not injured.

DC Kerry Whindle said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has any information about this incident or saw a bright yellow JCB or a silver pick-up vehicle in the area at around 4.30am this morning. This was a shocking ordeal for the member of staff who was working inside the building and we are determined to find whoever is responsible and bring them to justice.”
