Slight uplift in new car sales after five-month decline

The UK’s new car market grew marginally in February, up 1.4% following five straight months of decline, according to the latest figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

Sales of new cars in the UK continued their downward trend in January, with falls in diesel car sales continuing to outweigh higher sales of petrol cars and alternatively fuelled vehicles.

Sales of new cars continue to slide in November

The UK new car market declined by 3.0% in November with 158,639 units registered, according to figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
