West Mercia Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with a robbery which took place at the Co-operative petrol station on Station Road in Minsterley, Shropshire, on June 12.
A man approached the tills and demanded money while threatening a member of staff with a knife at around 11.45pm. The cashier handed over the contents of the till, and the offender put the cash into a bag before leaving the store.
The man was described as around five feet eight inches tall and of slim build. He was wearing dark footwear, dark tracksuit bottoms with a white logo near the left pocket, a dark jacket with a distinctive white vertical zipper, white waistband and white cuffs. The jacket possibly had a grey hood or was being worn over a grey hooded top. He was wearing a dark coloured, apparently home-made balaclava and large light and dark coloured gloves. He was holding an orange Sainsbury’s bag and a knife which is described as a bread knife with a dark handle, approximately six inches long and a blade approximately 12 inches long.
Detective constable Nicholas Williams said: “This was a frightening robbery in which a member of staff was threatened with a knife, and we are doing all we can to trace the suspect. Fortunately no one was injured.
“We would urge anyone who may recognise the man in the pictures, or who may have information about the robbery to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 777s of 12 June.
