Texaco is recommending the use of fuel cards instead of till receipts to ensure that records of purchases by employees on business comply with latest VAT rules. HM Revenue & Customs have recently announced changes to VAT regulations to bring them in line with the EU VAT directive. Texaco says that using a fuel card will ensure that firms can reclaim VAT spent on fuel as it gives them more control over employees’ spending.
