Scottish Borders police officers are appealing for witnesses following a break-in to a petrol station in Galashiels in the early hours of Thursday, November 5.

The incident happened around 3.45am when four people in black clothing broke into the Esso station in Melrose Road and stole a large quantity of cigarettes.

Officers are now urging anyone with information to get in touch. Detective constable Callum Peoples said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who can assist us to trace those responsible for this incident.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
