Detectives in Scotland are investigating an attempted murder which occurred after an incident on a forecourt.

They are appealing for witnesses after a man was knocked down following an argument on a forecourt in Clydebank on Tuesday 17 November.

At about 11.20pm a 47-year-old man was outside the Shell service station at 2333 Great Western Road when he was deliberately struck by a grey coloured car. Officers said they were treating the incident as attempted murder.

Detective constable Craig Bate from Clydebank CID said: “We understand that prior to the incident, there was some sort of altercation between the victim and the driver of the car within the forecourt of the Shell garage.

“The victim then walked out onto Great Western Road where he was deliberately struck by the vehicle.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to contact officers on 101. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 where all callers will remain anonymous.”
