Armed police attended a forecourt in Dorset after a man threatened staff with a hand gun.

The armed robbery occurred at the Esso petrol station on Charminster Road, Bournemouth, at 2.50am on Thursday January 7.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “It was reported that a man, wearing a black hooded top, grey tracksuit bottoms and a black scarf around his face, entered the shop, threatened staff with a hand gun and stole a quantity of cash. No injuries were sustained during the incident.

“Officers are now making enquiries and ask anyone with information, or who saw a man matching the offender’s description, to contact them quoting incident number 7:18.”

The man is described as white and between 5ft 6in and 5ft 9in tall.
