Top 50 Indie Platinum Retail has purchased The Kings Lane Garage in St Neots in Cambridgeshire, taking its total estate to 21 sites.

Mark Frostick, associate at property and planning consultancy Rapleys LLP, explained: “On behalf of a private operator Rapleys was appointed to sell a petrol station in my home town of St Neots, Cambridgeshire.

“When you have an instruction like this so close to home, you have an extra reason to be interested in the purchaser’s identity. It also highlights the importance of keeping the disposal confidential, as being a customer yourself you realise the effect an open marketing process could have on staff and the general public.”

He said there was interest from a number of parties and the site was sold to Platinum Retail.

Platinum was set up by Sej Sejpal after he sold Motor Fuels Group (MFG) in 2012. It has continued to expand and he now has 21 sites.

Sej commented: “The Kings Lane Garage in St Neots is a strong site and will be an important addition to my network. I am now looking for the next opportunity and thank Mark Frostick and Rapleys for their assistance with this purchase.”

In the most recent Top 50 Indies, published by Forecourt Trader in March, Platinum was ranked 12th.
