Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at a petrol station in Northumberland, owned by Top 50 Indie Penny Petroleum.

The incident happened at 4.40pm on Sunday August 28, when two men went into Penny Petroleum Service Station on Amble Industrial Estate in Amble and threatened a member of staff.

The cashier was forced to hand over money, and the robbers then left the store and got into a vehicle that was waiting nearby and drove off.

Police said the cashier was shaken but not injured in the incident. Officers are carrying out enquiries and appealing for witnesses.
